La Casona is situated on the coastal plain between the mountains and the coast.
Within easy reach are many sandy beaches and coves as well as the Picos de Europa mountain range.

Below the village lies the river Deva where you can enjoy many water activities - beautiful and spectacular gorges.

Closeby are many interesting towns and villages including Colombres which houses a museum to the Indianos people who left the area at the end of the 19th century to seek fame and fortune in South and Central America.

The flora and fauna in this part of Spain is varied and diverse. Eagles, vultures and falcons can be seen above the meadows and the spring orchids make walking in the countryside a very pleasant experience.

The area is also known for its excellent food, wine and the friendliness of the local people.
