Casa Triana is a traditional village house, in a quiet street, near shops and amenities without being on a main road. Via a beamed walkway, you'll find our house with a beautiful Gaudi-style mosaic façade. Nearly 100 years old, in traditional style though fully renovated.
Lounge: A comfortable lounge to welcome you with 3 sofas, a reading corner, as well as TV, UK satellite, games and books. Up a few steps to modern fully equipped kitchen, and separate dining room, where there are table, chairs and a sofa bed(if required) and music hifi. Both double and twin bedrooms on the 2nd floor with the 3rd floor for the bathroom, utility room (washing machine) and access to the roof terrace.
Double bedroom. Mothercare travel cot also available.
Twin bedroom is also on the 2nd floor with steps leading to the roof terrace and bathroom.
The sofa bed in the diningroom can sleep 2 but we prefer to say one person for comfort or 2 little ones under 10.
All rooms have heaters (not necessary of course in summer) and fans with sufficient wardrobe and storage space.
Exterior blinds on all main windows to keep out the heat.
All rooms have a wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps and pleasant wall hangings and mirrors as well as bedside mats.
Modern tiled bathroom, bath and shower over, washbasin and bidet. With a wall heater (for colder months) with a window looking over the roof terrace. Vanity unit and storage space. Adjacent is a small utility area with washing machine. Extremely practical since the roof terrace is also on this level and clothes hung out in the summer can be dry in 30 mins! Iron and ironing board also here
From the south facing roof terrace, partly shaded, there are spectacular views over the rooftops and the mountains. Patio furniture provided for relaxing, and enjoying watching the sun go down. The village is really welcoming with friendly bars and restaurants, many with live music.
Calle Triana is a traditional house built nearly 100 years ago with some walls over 2 ft thick. We have tried to include all things that you might need on holiday, including a variety of books and games. Videos and DVD's can be hired locally from a number of shops and although internet is not available at the house, there is WIFI in several cafes + 3 internet cafes. The TV is free to air UK satellite (ie not Sky Sports) but with a wide variety of channels and Spanish ones. Hikes and walks in sierras, pottery courses, relaxing massages and reflexology, tennis, horse riding as well as trips out arranged via the tourist office. A bus leaves for the coast and Malaga 3 times a day so it is possible to come on holiday here without hiring a car, although to have one is a good idea to explore the lovely countryside and interesting traditional Spanish villages which are steeped in history. Parking is in the main car park only 5 mins away. Hot pastries and cooked breakfast 5 mins away!

The village enjoys good modern amenities such as supermarkets, fresh bakeries, internet cafes and good selection of bars and restaurants. Local shops have DVD's and videos to rent. There are 2 swimming pools in Competa less than 10 mins away on foot and 1 in neighbouring village. A large Aquapark in Velez Malaga is only 30 mins away on the coast for the children and teenagers (and older ones!) with loads of swings, slides and wave machines.
Competa is one of the typical Andalousian 'white ' villages, full of charm and welcoming people. It nestles in the foothills of the Sierra Almijara about 650m above sea level. It is only 18 km from the sea and about 50 km from Malaga. Competa backs on to the Sierra Almijara national park with views to Mount Tejeda.. The Sierra´s Tejeda and Almijara reach an altitude of 2.000 meters.
A perfect location: quiet side street yet close to shops restaurants and main square. Internet cafes and WIFI available. Hikes and walks in the sierras, quad bikes, 4x4 tours, tennis and horse riding close by.
Beautiful walks can be done straight from the village and there are many hikers’ maps that can be obtained from the tourist office - we have some in the house already. Relaxing walks by streams and waterfalls, as well as hikes right up into the Sierra Almijara mountains direct from village.
Make the most of cheaper fares to go walking in winter and spring when wildlife, fauna and flora abound, as well as the autumn when the heat of summer has abated. We can put you in touch with a local organiser who leads walks into the high sierras.
Convenient for discovering the pueblos blancos (whitewashed villages) of Axarquia, and only 1.5 hours from Granada with renown Alhambra 10C, absolute must to see.
This is a most beautiful part of Spain, with a view of wild and impressive mountain areas, comprising of terraced hillsides and fertile, well-watered valleys. It has orchards of orange and olive trees watered by a unique Moorish irrigation system that was developed over a thousand years ago. Axarquia and Andalucia are exciting areas to explore, steeped in history going back to the time when this area was inhabited by the Moors from Africa, with beautiful examples in the well known town of Granada, with the fascinating Alhambra 10C which you really MUST see, but be sure to book first as it’s very busy.
Further north is the Sierra Nevada, a national park about an hour's drive away, with the highest mountain in mainland Spain at 11,000 feet. The Sierra Nevada is usually snow-capped for much of the year, and has oak, chestnut and pine forests on its lower slopes, giving way to Alpine tundra and rocky crags towards the summits. It is apparently possible to ski in the morning and be on the beach in the afternoon.

Tariff Information
Tariff Range: from 260 to 380 EUR per week
Flexible changeover days,except for the July/August period where it’s Saturday changeover.
30% required on booking, remainder 6 weeks before departure.
150 Euros refundable damage deposit
Long term bookings considered, from 100 Euros per week dependent on length of stay between September and April.
Keys and directions are sent out around 2 weeks before departure.
If over 4 people, an extra €40 per booking is payable (not per person)
All bedlinen supplied, plus 2 towels (not beach towels).
Pets may be accepted, please ask.
Smoking permitted on roof terrace but not in the house.
