The mobil home can be rented alone or rented with the caravan if you are with friends and need some extra beds and living area.
A brightly decorated 2 bedroomed mobile home with sofa bed in the living room, sleeps max of 4. The lounge has table, gas fire and storage areas as well as UK Satellite TV and DVD. The main bedroom has a double bed (130cm wide) and the smaller room has a single bed (90wide). A bed can be made in the living room also. Both bedrooms have wardrobes and individual lights and are nicely finished. In the kitchen there is tall fridge, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, oven and all crockery, utensils and kitchen equipment necessary. The bathroom has a small bath with shower over, with washbasin vanity unit and toilet. Electric water heater. You have your own private garden, and all patio and garden furniture provided with barbecue for al fresco dining. There is large shaded area in rustic wood, with a tiled patio area which gives you welcomed shade in the heat of the summer and helps keep the mobile home cooler in summer.
The caravan, an Abbey Somerset 4-berth, is situated only about 15 metres away from the mobile home so if you rent both accommodations you are still altogether. The caravan has a double bed area by folding down the couch areas (or what some people prefer is to keep the bed area made up as a double bed and I put in a proper mattress as opposed to the sofa cushions). There is an additional sleeping area at the other end of the caravan by folding down the table for a single person. There is a kitchen area with4-ring gas hob and an oven, a sink and small fridge. Heating available. Toilet using chemicals wtih sink over vanity unit. Shower to be used in the mobile home (15 metres away). There is a small TV and DVD in the living room as well as CD player.
All linen is provided for the holiday, including towels, and kitchen towels, however do bring your own beach towels. Fans available. The gardens have been landscaped around the home and you can enjoy nature at its best. The washing machine in the main house is available for use at a nominal sum 3 euro per load incl. powder). If necessary you can keep some food in our main freezer in the house. WIFI is also available if you have a laptop. If not, you are welcome to check emails from time to time from our computer too. You’ll feel totally at home here and be able to let the stresses fall away.
Activities:
There is a local pool about 8 km at Gardes de Pontaroux, and another in Montmoreau. In the picturesque village of Aubeterre there is a beach area with sand with river swimming, and play areas. Games such as badminton and tennis can be borrowed and bicycles can be hired for a nominal sum. Our table tennis table is available, and you have the freedom to walk and explore the countryside and woods straight on your doorstep. Pls contact me for website details with lots more info on area.

Situated at the end of a little country lane, with our neighbour's lake about 100 metres away (fenced and safe!), it is in an idylllic rural location. However, you are only 5 mins away from the medieval hamlet of Ronsenac, which has its own cafe and meals available, and 10 mins away from the historic town of Villebois Lavalette, complete with chateau and church dating back to the 12th century and a magnificent medieval Halles - see above picture, where the Saturday market takes place.
Villebois Lavalette has all amenties, including a large supermarket and petrol station, as well as banks, chemists, butchers and bakers. The local Tourism office is very obliging and can advise of local activities, shows, local music, and tourist venues and English is spoken. Angoulême, the capital of the department of the Charente, is an ancient walled city only 25 minutes away with the River Charente flowing through it. Angoulême frequently hosts festivals (for locals and tourists). Please see my website at http://chezlevrault.weebly.com for lots of information.
We are situated in a beautiful area of south west France, close to the Charente/Dordogne border. The Charente exudes history, good living and serene natural beauty. It has a reputation for being one of the most beautiful departments in France. There are an abundance of rivers, undulating countryside, deep forests, dramatic gorges - similar in many ways to the neighbouring department of the Dordogne, favoured by the British for many years, but without the number of tourists that inundate the area in the summer months.
Blessed with many hours of sunshine due to a micro climate, there is an abundance of locally grown vegetables and fruit, particularly organic and many other excellent things to eat in this gastronomic region, such as foie gras, duck, pineau and cognac. Just north of the Dordogne, this is lovely countryside, unspoilt with many woods and walks to discover. Loads of activities for you to do, such as kayaking, swimming, walking, cycling and horseriding. Prehistoric sites, caves and cave paintings, historic chateaux, traditional unspoilt villages, and vineyards are waiting for you to discover them.
The interesting towns of Angouleme, Limoges, Cognac and Royan and Perigueux are near enough to discover in a day.
Under two hours away is Futuroscope in Poitiers, a fantastic day out for all the family. See their website (also in English).
