Le Balet du Val Chambre d'Hôte
...ref.no: 746
Accommodation (Bed & Breakfast Chambre d'Hôte, sleeps: 2)
The bed & breakfast is on the ground floor of the farmhouse.
- The french windows provide a private entrance which leads out onto a large terrace under the shade of tamarisk and bamboo.
- A similar entrance is situated on the garden side allowing you to be surrounded by nature and yet never far from the comfort and cool air of the interior.
- For your comfort the windows and doors are insulated and secure, each having their shutters to shade you from the hot sun during a summer siesta; the stone walls are a metre in depth - an effective insulation from the elements either during a heat wave or a cold spell!
- The bedroom has an old world charm (the house dates from the 17th Century) and is completed by a fine contemporary bathroom (Bath/shower, washbasin inset in a great tablette with an enormous mirror 'en face', heated towel rails, hair dryer, etc.) and an independant lavatory.
- A staircase takes you to the sitting room and dining room (with an open fireplace) and to the famous 'Balet' (the covered terrace which gives the property its name) where you can take breakfast and discover the panorama over the neighbouring countryside.
- Double bed 140 x 200 cm
- A Baby cot is made available for you as necessary
Locality (close to: Riberac)
The Dordogne is a great area for excursions, with many chateaux, interesting caves, gorges, etc. that can be visited during a day out. It is also a renowned gastronomic region with scores of excellent restaurants.
You can go wind-surfing on the Lac de Lajemaye and canoeing on the River Dronne. There are riding stables and a flying club in the district, and golf is available a little further afield. The vineyards and caves of Bergerac and Bordeaux are within easy reach. Ten minutes out of Grand Brassac takes you into a rocky landscape known as a 'causse'.
