Accommodation (Self Catering Apartment, sleeps: 8)
Our house is situated in the historic colonnade at the heart of the village, looking out onto the church, medieval tower and ‘village green’ and are just a few yards from the café and shop.
Each apartment has:
- spacious living room
- two bedrooms
- kitchen
- bathroom
As adjoining apartments, they are also well suited to two families or couples travelling together.
Kitchens have fridge, gas cooker and microwave, and a washing machine is available in the laundry / games room.
Outdoor furniture is provided for eating out under the colonnade or relaxing on the village green.
Each apartment sleeps four in a double and a twin bedroom, and can accommodate additional guests with a sofabed or spare mattress in the large living room.
A cot is also available on request.
Our English manager living nearby will greet you and ensure that everything is in order during your stay.
Locality (close to: Tillac)
The department of Gers, with its capital Auch, is part of the modern Midi Pyrenees region and ancient Gascony or Gascogne. From Tillac it is possible to be in Spain, skiing in the Pyrenees, on the Atlantic coast at Biarritz or approaching the Mediterranean within two hours. The region is steeped in history with its fortified villages and towns, with their market squares and arcades dating from the Hundred Years War and Eleanor of Aquitaine. D’Artagnan was born nearby and there is a family grave in the village cemetery.
The pilgrim route of St Jacques de Compostelle passes through Monlezun, on the edge of the commune of Tillac.
The region is also known for its local specialities particularly Armagnac but also the wines of the St Mont and Madiran region as well as foie gras , confits and garbure.
Nearby Bassoues combines history as an ancient village on the ‘routes de Castelnaux et Bastides’ with vigniculture as
Rich in music festivals, every week has something happening from small concerts in a local church to the 10 day festival of Jazz in Marciac which in past years has featured artists such as Ray Charles and Nina Simone.
Neighbouring Mirande also stages its well known Country and Western festival each summer.
The Cirque de Gavarnie in the Pyrenees is also the backdrop for an annual theatrical and musical event, as well as providing a spectacular day trip.
For the more active just about everything is possible from walking and cycling, to playing golf, watersports on the nearby lakes - several with sandy beaches for swimming, to being an hour and a half away from the ski resorts of Cauterets, St Lary and La Mongie. The South West is also the rugby belt of France with enthusiastic support for local teams such as Dax, Pau and Bordeaux.

Tariff Information
Tariff Range: from 230 to 285 GBP per week
We charge £285 a week for each apartment during the summer season (July to September ) with £65 premium for the weeks of the Marciac Jazz festival (around second week August). Other times £230 per week – these prices include electricity.
Bookings are normally from Saturday to Saturday.
Special Offers
We offer a discount of 10% for booking:
both apartments together
second and subsequent weeks.
Linen is provided at a additional charge of £6.00 per person to cover laundry (bed linen, towels and tea-towel, but not beach towels).
Please let us know if you would like to bring your own.
Please note: due to the historic structure and half timbered nature of the buildings the stairways are rather steep and therefore unsuitable for those with limited mobility, open fires are not permitted and we also request that guests do not smoke.
