Le Bourg is a detached 19th century stone village house with its own orchard and south facing front veranda with glorious uninterrupted views, situated on a hilltop on the edge of Lacour an ancient village in the rolling countryside of Quercy in the heart of south west France.
From the front, the house is approached via a few steps to the south patio which is completely walled and gated. The above ground pool is on the patio below the veranda. A few more steps take you to the veranda. The spectacular views can be enjoyed from the veranda or patio. Here you will find tables, chairs and the built in barbecue.
The house has a well equipped and fitted kitchen including microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, gas hob and electric oven. An arched doorway leads into the dining room with feature old stone sink (evier en pierre) and table with seating for eight people.
Step through another arched doorway and you find yourself in a large lounge with feature fireplace and comfortable seating for 8 people. The house has a light and airy feel to it because of plenty of windows. Out of the lounge the short flight of stairs leads to a family room with four single beds and an en suite toilet.
One step out of the lounge leads to the rear of the house and another step up to the washing machine in the hallway. Shower and wash basin room is off the hall as is the separate toilet and hand basin. The master bedroom has a king size bed and an en suite shower, bidet and wash basin. The other bedroom has two single beds. All the floors are either tiled or laminated.
Locality (close to: Lacour)
Le Bourg's south facing front veranda has glorious uninterrupted views, situated on a hilltop on the edge of Lacour an ancient village in the rolling countryside of Quercy in the heart of south west France. It is in the Tarn et Garonne region on the edge of the Lot et Garonne. Tarn et Garonne is predominately a fruit producing region including vines.
The Orchard
The back hallway leads out up a small step to a large patio area at the rear of the house which adjoins the orchard. The large orchard has splendid views too and is equipped with a badminton net and equipment, another barbecue and sun loungers.
The orchard and back patio are also gated and ring fenced. Cars can be parked on the orchard at the rear. There is a driveway which runs up the side of the house. The back door is far more convenient for guests with walking difficulties.
Le Bourg is on the edge of Lacour de Visa a hilltop village with views down into the valley.
The bistro (with games room upstairs) is next to the Roman 11th century church and the Mairie all 150 yards from the house. There are two farms in the village and a small vineyard on the edge in the open countryside. The first week in July the village bread oven comes into use when there is a bread festival in Lacour.
Lacour de Visa is a very peaceful French village so is ideal for birdwatching and while you are there you must spend some time enjoying the spectacular display of stars as there isn’t any light pollution in this part of France.
