Locality (close to: Dulverton)
Deer's Leap Farm, originally named Town Farm, was once an important agricultural holding, dating back to the 15th Century. At one time it had its own chapel; the timbers were removed and now form the arch screen in the beautiful West Anstey Parish Church about half a mile away. Now it offers luxury cottage accommodation to guests who need to relax.
In its idyllic 20 acre setting on the edge of the Exmoor National park, Deer's Leap offers you a tranquil and luxurious cottage holiday. Relax beside the lake, watch the resident buzzards or wander the extensive, lovingly tended gardens and admire the views. Or venture out on to Exmoor and look out for the majestic red deer.
Deer's Leap is within easy reach of many delightful haunts- The Ancient Causeway or Tarr Steps, Anstey Common, Landacre Bridge and Dunkery Beacon to name a few. Several charming villages are also nearby including Dulverton, Winsford, Withypool and Exford. North Devon and Exmoor have some of the most beautiful coastline and beaches in the whole of the UK.
A trip to the heritage coast will be rewarded by the sight of some of the highest sea cliffs in England. There are regular boat trips from most harbour villages. No visit to Exmoor would be complete without an excursion to the Doone Valley, made famous by R D Blackmore's novel Lorna Doone.
