Each cottage sleeps up to 4 persons. They are comfortably furnished and well equipped with – full gas central heating; duvets with linen; CTV andradio; cooker; microwave; fridge/freezer; washing machine; ironing facilities; hairdryer; cot (not bedding) and high chair available; books; tourist information leaflets; garden furniture.
They are charming cottages in which to relax in comfort and enjoy your holiday in a friendly village atmosphere.
Mead Cottage
The attractive light and airy lounge/diner has a very well equipped kitchen. A heated conservatory opens to a sheltered patio and pretty south facing terraced cottage garden planted with shrubs, trees and flowers for year round interest. There is a ground floor cloakroom and w/c. Upstairs is a pretty double bedroom, two single bedrooms and bathroom with an overbath shower.
French doors lead to a sheltered south facing patio and pretty terraced cottage garden. There is an entrance hall and downstairs cloakroom. Private car parking
Mabel’s Cottage
The cosy and comfortable lounge/diner opens into a furnished and heated conservatory which overlooks the patio and small walled garden. The separate well-equipped kitchen is also a breakfast room for two. There is a ground floor cloakroom with w/c. On the first floor is the double bedroom with floral fabrics, two single bedrooms and a bathroom with over-bath shower.
Outside is a patio and delightful small walled garden. Private car parking.
One dog accepted in Mead Cottage only.
No smoking inside the cottages.
Locality (close to: Dorchester)
A pleasant walk from your cottage through Puddletown Forest leads to Thomas Hardy's Cottage. The woods in Spring are filled with bluebells and primroses; in June with rhododendrons and in Autumn ablaze with golden tints.
In the next hamlet lies the 15th Century Athelhampton House and Gardens. Beyond is the village of Tolpuddle made famous by its martyrs. The Roman town of Dorchester with its shops, museums and large weekly market is under five miles away.
The Jurassic Coast – England's only natural World Heritage Site includes:
- Weymouth with its harbour and safe, sandy beach.
- Further afield Studland with three miles of fine golden sand.
- Chesil Beach – 16 miles of graded pebbles – a fisherman's paradise.
- Lulworth Cove with bay, folded cliffs and the rock arch of Durdle Door.
- The mysterious Isle of Portland famous for stone, rock climbing and birds.
- Abbotsbury with pretty village, Sub-tropical Gardens and Swannery.
- Lyme Regis and Charmouth famous for fossils.
