The Hill Cottage is situated approximately 2 miles from the villages of both Crossgar and Killyleagh. It is in a peaceful and rural setting yet only a few miles from the picturesque Strangford Lough and all the many amenities Co Down has to offer..
Enjoy the nearby beautiful Delamont Country Park on the shores of Strangford Lough. Walk in the Mourne Mountains, Tollymore and Castlewellan Forest Parks, visit various National Trust properties or picnic on the quiet sandy beaches near Newcastle (coastal resort). Riding, fishing, sailing and excellent Golf courses all within 10 miles.
Strangford Lough
Strangford is a large sea inlet with a meandering shoreline of 150 miles. The gigantic inland sea, has about 120 small islands and is surrounded almost entirely by land, resulting in an enormous diversity of easily accessible diving sites. Quite simply Strangford Lough is a unique marine biologist paradise. The life of the seabed and around the wrecks is varied and prolific with urchins, anemones, sea squirts, scallops, crabs, prawns and octopus.
