Comfortable,spacious and all on ground level, L'Emeraude offers the ideal holiday accommodation.
A modern property, but in traditional French style, it gives you the best of both worlds - all mod cons combined with a location in a quiet rural French village, only 10 miles from the Atlantic.
Features:
- Lounge
The large, fully tiled lounge is the ideal spot for relaxing during your holiday.
For those leisurely evening, there is TV with UK channels, DVD and CD player. Also provided is a selection of DVDs and CDs and you are,of course, welcome to bring your own.
The wood burner takes the chill out of evenings "out of season" and is easy to operate.
There is a dining table in the lounge as well as in the kitchen. French doors in the lounge lead to the conservatory, and here you will find the full-sized table tennis table.
- Bedrooms
The bedrooms, one double and one twin, have fitted wardrobes. Both are carpeted and tastefully decorated. All bed linen is supplied and a travel cot is provided.. A PS One playstation is provided in the twin bedroom, along with a selection of games.
- Kitchen
The well equipped kitchen has a fridge freezer, oven, hob, microwave and iron. There is a table and chairs in the kitchen , as well as in the lounge. A utility area in the garage houses the washing machine.
- Bathroom & WC
With separate W.C., the modern bathroom features some lovely Italian tiles and sports a full size bath as well as a shower cabinet and bidet etc.
- Outside
There is ample off road car parking outside L'Emeraude.
At the rear, you will find the large enclosed garden - mainly laid to lawn but also containing some fruit trees. Our guests are welcome to consume whatever fruit may be in season during their stay.
The patio is complete with table and chairs, sun loungers and BBQ. And finally, should you be feeling energetic, there are 2 adults' and 2 children's bikes available to take for a spin.
Locality (close to: Martinet)
Whether you prefer the countryside or the beaches, walking or cycling, visiting tourist attractions or just relaxing, there is truly something for everyone in the Vendee. L'Emeraude has easy access to all these activities and really does have something for every one.
- Local towns
Aizenay - ideal for shopping with a fantastic new Hyper-U
La Mothe Achard - also a nice little town with Super-U and all the facilities
Coex - smaller but with all the amenities and a market on saturday mornings
Bretignolles sur Mer - very picturesque seaside town with great beaches and excellent Sunday morning market St Gilles Croix-de-Vie - definitely a favourite with golden sandy beach: "La Grande Plage" and lots of restaurants, both on the sea front and in the main part of town. Very lively with lots to see and do.
Les Sables d'Olonnes - home of the Vendee Globe and a really lively,vibrant seaside resort. It has a magnificent beach with restaurants and shops galore.
La Roche-sur-Yon - capital town of La Vendee, La roche is full of napeolonic history and good shopping.
- Nearby beaches
Lots of beaches are within easy reach - golden sand and the Atlantic ocean with big waves for body boarding and surfing.
Fabulous beaches at Bretignolles-sur-mer, Les Sables d'Olonnes and St Gilles Croix-de-Vie to name a few

Enjoy cycling on the cycle paths and various circular routes in the local area

Jardin des Olfacties at Coex is a wonderful half day out - enjoy the beautiful flowers and fragrances that Mother Nature has to offer
Potager Extraordinaire at La Mothe Achard excels in weird and wonderful vegetables
Moulin des Gourmands at St Reverend will show you a windmill in action, complete with the miller. Different breads are on sale using the flour milled on site.
Velo rail - if you are feeleing energetic, then the Velo rail is for you. "Cycling" along an old railway track, this is great fun and ideal to wear out the kids! Booking is essential to guarantee availability.
- Attractions worth the drive
Visit the wonderful Aquarium at La Rochelle - it's open 365 days per year and up till 11pm in the peak summer months - about 90 minutes drive
The Puy du Fou is definitely worth a visit - its an historical theme park with shows and performances for all the family. Also highly recommended is the night time Cinescenie - book this for definite availability - about 75 minutes drive.
The City of Nantes is worth a visit - drive to the outskirts and take the tram into the city centre. The Chateau des Ducs du Bretagne is fabulous - it reopened in 2008 after many years of restoration.

Tariff Information
Tariff Range: from 240 to 440 GBP per week
Low-season £240
Mid-season £360
High-season £390
Peak-season £440
L'Emeraude is available all year round for rental including long term in winter. Rentals start on a Saturday, but this can be varied out of season.
July and August - minimum rental is TWO weeks. If single weeks are required,but two week slot is available, then a supplement of £60 will be added.
A deposit of £100 is required for each week booked, with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Bookings less than eight weeks in advance must be paid for in full at time of booking. A damage deposit of £150 will also be required as a separate cheque- this cheque will be returned (subject to no damage or excessive cleaning) by post within 2 weeks of leaving.
Linen and electricity is included in the rental price.
A copy of the booking conditions will be issued with the booking form and are available on request.
