The cottage has accommodation is on two floors and is suitable for up to 6 people plus a baby.

Features:

• The ground floor has a large well equipped dining room/kitchen with full size cooker, microwave, and wood burner.
  
• There is also a utility room with full size fridge/freezer and washing machine.
  
  
• The living room is also spacious with plenty of seating and a double sofa bed.
  
• There is a large selection of reading material, CD player and TV/DVD along with games/playing cards etc.
  
  
• We have a large double bedroom downstairs with exposed beams that also accommodates a single bed.
  
• There is a bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin just off this bedroom.
  
  
• Upstairs there is a large double bedroom with exposed beams and large velux window, along with a single bed which is suitable for children up to the age of 12.
  
  
• There is also a single bedroom with balcony giving fantastic views of the countryside.
  
• A family bathroom is situated upstairs which has a bath, shower, washbasin and toilet.
  
  
• For people visiting with a baby we are able to provide a cot, highchair, changing mat and pushchair.
  
  
• Outside their are lawns of around 1 acre along with is stocked with trees and flowers.
  
• There is a gravelled area next to the cottage which can easily cater for numerous cars.
  
• Part of this area is converted into a boules court.
  We also have a variety of toys and books for children including a sandpit, picnic table, bicycle and trike.
  

The cottage is situated in a hamlet just outside the village of Mouais in the Loire Atlantique (44) Loire-Atlantique, also known as Western Loire, on the border of Morbihan, the Southern most département of Brittany, and also equally close to Ille et Vilaine, in the East of Brittany. It is well located to access the Atlantic coast, just an hour away.

This region enjoys a warmer climate than the North coast of Brittany & Normandy. It offers a dramatic, rugged coastline within an hour’s drive, long sandy beaches; both tourist hot spots and secluded bays, plus the inland delights of its many pretty villages.

Western Loire is located far enough away from the UK to really feel ‘abroad’ but is close enough to offer the security of knowing family & friends are not too far away at all. Possibly the best served area of France for travel links. This is one of the few areas accessible via ferry or airplane.

Nantes is the capital of the region and is the 3rd largest city in the country and currently one of the most prosperous. We are also close to Rennes which is the capital of Brittany and again around 30 minutes away from the cottage.

Both cities are worth a visit, Nantes especially as it has an efficient tram system. The Loire Atlantique is split into a number regions we are located in the one whose main town is Chateaubriant about 10 miles / 10 minutes away to the east, the town has a large castle come chateau part of the castle was built over eight hundred years ago.

For beach lovers there is the chic resort at La Baule with is 6 km's of fantastic beach, we also like Pouliguen next to La Baule and there are also great beaches at Vannes and Le Croisic.

For lovers of culture you should visit the town at La Gacilly which has been votes one of the best villages in France where Yves Rocher www.yves-rocher.com is based. The man himself is also the mayor worth a visit is the Vegertarium along with some beautiful shops and restaurants. One more suggestion is the mediaeval town of Guerande and why not buy some sea salt while you are their as its harvested traditionally nearby.

On you way to the cottage you will go past Mont Saint Michel which is around 70 miles away and we are less than an hour away from the very pretty Loire town of Angers and a little further to the famous city of Samur.

Close to the cottage is the small town of Derval and we are next to the village of Mouais which is the smallest commune in the region with less than 300 inhabitants. The village is very picturesque and obviously has it small local bar, there are a number of pretty walks marked out in the village which pass by the lake and river in the centre.

For gourmet fans there are two top class restaurants near the cottage, we have visited both and well worth splashing out on.

Derval is around 2 miles away and has a large Super U, all of the necessary shops 2 x Bakers, Chemist, Tabac, Newsagent Post Office, Butchers, Hairdressers Cafes x 3 Estate agents x3 with the local market being on a Saturday.

Other items of interest.

• Lake for swimming and fishing at Plesse with man made beach (15 minutes away)
  
• Horse riding, fishing (river at Mouais) outdoor swimming (Nozay), canoeing and water sports are all with easy reach.
  
• There is a large Aquarium at Le Crossic which is one of the biggest in France well worth a visit with the kids
