Locality (close to: Allineuc)
Brittany has a diverse variety of attractions and activities covering Nature and its associated activities such as walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, golf, fishing; Heritage with towns & villages, castles, museums, mills, religious sites, archaeological sites, parks & gardens; Arts & Crafts with pottery, glassware, musical instruments, jewellery, local produce, traditional cuisine and markets: Water activities with sailing, kite surfing, land sailing, sea kayaking, diving, rowing, and water skiing; something for everyone.
There are many stately homes, chateaux and walled towns. One charming example is Dinan with its ramparts, half timbered buildings and cobbled quaintness making it one of Brittany’s best loved medieval town centres and a lovely place to go for a day out. Closer to us though is the beautiful town of Quintin, about 8km away. It has an exceptional architectural heritage, flower filled parks, festivities and gastronomic specialities all demonstrating the best of Breton culture.
Celtic music and folklore is celebrated with festivals throughout Brittany, such as Guingamp’s Fete de la Saint-Loup when 2500 musicians and dancers from all over Brittany, Ireland, Scotland and Galicia bring the historic town to life during nine days of Celtic culture and festivities in last week of June.
Allineuc is a wonderful place for guests who enjoy physical activities and the beautiful countryside is a perfect place for walking and cycling (a popular French pastime!) The local lake at Bosmeleac is about a 10 minute walk from the Manoir along a wooded pathway where you will find swimming, walks, canoe & pedaloe hire in addition to fishing (accompanied fishing is available). Fishing permits are available at post offices and tabacs.
Tennis courts are available at Allineuc, Mini Golf is found at St Herve and a large leisure complex is situated at Loudeac. If you enjoy ice skating or ten pin bowling why not visit St Brieuc and then sample the traditional Breton fare at the many restaurants. Golf courses are at Lamballe and Pleneuf Val Andre and Go Karting at Cohiniac, Lamballe and Plerin. The beaches are superb and many offer courses in beach surfing and canoeing.
