The property has five bedrooms one of which is en-suite and three bathrooms.
The accommodation is flexible and lends itself to both small and large groups.
All of our rooms have beautiful views.

We have a beautiful outdoor swimming pool (10m x 5m) surrounded by an attractive terrace with sunbeds and chairs for relaxing and sunbathing.

Our art studio, where we run our art workshops and tutored holidays (see opposite for more information), is available for all guests to use.
You can also enjoy yourselves quietly sitting in our sheltered garden in the shade or the sun or take a stroll through the woods and fields surrounding the house. You can frequently see unusual birds, animals and wild flowers, depending on the time of year.

Eating at Le Perchoir des Paons
Food is very important to most people when they visit France and we are very proud to be able to say that we get many compliments about the meals that we provide. We enjoy cooking and provide high quality food in a friendly, relaxed environment. Many of our repeat visitors have told us that this is one of the main reasons that they keep coming back!

Breakfast
A continental style breakfast is included in the price of the room. This consists of seasonal fresh fruit, yoghurts, fresh croissants/bread, homemade jams, fruit juice, coffee or tea.

Evening Meals
We are delighted to provide evening meals “en famille” if required. These consist of four courses and include locally sourced seasonal produce& wine and are available any day of the week; we just need to know by the morning of the day that you require a meal. We can also cater for special dietary requirements as long as we know about them in advance.

To give you an idea of the sort of food that you can expect to eat during your stay with us the following are examples of typical menus:

Our charge for evening meals is €20 per adult and €10 for under 12s.

We are located in a wonderful area with easy access to both the Lot and Dordogne rivers, with the Dordogne offering an adventurous day out canoeing or, if you’re not feeling quite so energetic, visits to some of the most beautiful Chateaux and gardens in France. The Lot Valley is perfect for those interested in the art of making, and drinking wine, with the Cahors vineyards just a short drive away.

If a cultural visit to local towns is more your scene, Cahors and Sarlat both host a range of delights, including Sarlat’s famous Saturday market which runs throughout the year – a must for nearly all of our visitors. Both towns are historically significant and full of fascinating architecture, much of it medieval, from the tiny back streets of Sarlat to the amazing Pont Valentre in Cahors – there will be something to appeal to everybody! There are many smaller towns and villages close by, full of stone houses and built in the famous bastide style all of whom have their own small weekly markets – Monpazier, Monflanquin and Cazals being just a few examples.

The food and wine of this area is renowned and we can ensure you sample these delights, either en-famille at Le Perchoir des Paons, or at some of the wonderful local restaurants, including the well known “La Recreation” in Les Arques, no more than ten minutes away. If you want to sample the local wine there are lots of Vineyards to visit ranging from the beautiful Chateaux producers to the small family run Domaines. We also organise our own informal wine tasting evenings.

Other interesting things that we can offer to make your stay something extra special include:

• Take to the skies and discover a different view of your surroundings with a Hot Air balloon trip
  
• Visit our local lavender farm, where the owners will demonstrate how they harvest and produce lavender products
  
• Try your hand at painting & drawing with personal tuition, or just use our studio facilities
  
• Explore the locality on foot, by bicycle or on horseback
  
• Take the opportunity to improve your French conversation with one-to-one tuition
  
• Take a river boat trip on either the Dordogne or the Lot
  
• Visit some of the famous prehistoric caves in the area
