Locality (close to: Great Sturton)
Old Barn Cottages are located in Great Sturton, a tiny hamlet on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds - a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This part of the country is still one of the quietest and least-spoiled parts of rural England.
The cottages are not far from Horncastle (five miles) - a picturesque Georgian market town famed as the antiques centre of Lincolnshire.
Small historic towns are scattered throughout the area. Many are village-like in atmosphere but on market days they spring to life, drawing in people from the surrounding countryside as they have done for centuries.
Travel the quiet country roads across the Wolds to the Lincolnshire coast with its wide, safe, sandy beaches and such popular resorts as Mablethorpe and Skegness.
Historic Lincoln City (15 miles) is also easy to get to - the hilltop cathedral is clearly visible from the cottages.
Other nearby attractions include the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Coningsby, numerous stately homes, country parks and wild-life sanctuaries.
