At Wester Lix we offer two self contained properties with their own unique character and style for that "real home from home" comfort.

JONNAS COTTAGE is an extremely comfortable cottage offering accommodation to groups or families of 4/5 and offers many features including wood burning stove and sauna.

A traditional 2 story building approx with lounge, kitchen/diner and 2 bedrooms both with en suite bathrooms plus a sauna/shower room.
The lounge offers double aspect views with patio doors leading to a decking area overlooking our private lochan.
The kitchen is open plan to the dining area offering Elec oven, gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine.
a master double with en suite and a twin/double also with en suite.
Additional sofa beds for children and are cot available by arrangement.
A shower room with a sauna for 2/4 is situated downstairs.
Other features include Oil Fired central heating, wood burner in the lounge. double glazing, colour tv with Sky Digital (full family pack) plus DVD player and a video available on request at no additional charge.
Jonna's Cottage has a very light and open feel with all doors and woodwork left in a natural finish, the lounge is south facing with the private decking area benefiting from sunlight from morning to eve with a degree of privacy.

New on the market is the Farm House - newly refurbished and sleeping four people in two bedrooms. This property was the original Farm House at Wester Lix. It has a separate lounge, dining room and kitchen and toilet downstairs. The two bedrooms and family bathroom are upstairs.
All heating costs are included in the rental price, electricity is by coin meter but we fill the meter before your arrival.

Children are most welcome. as are pets by arrangement.

Photography Courses
At Wester Lix we offer a range of short courses in photography for both beginners and advanced individuals or groups.
For all guests staying at Wester Lix we offer a complimentary introduction in any of the listed modules.

Art Courses
We are planning to run a series of courses later in the year hosed by local artists. Courses will be either residential or offered on a teaching only basis as required.

Locality (close to: Killin)

Westerlix is situated just over 2 miles from the village of Killin, right in the center of the Dochart Forest. From the grounds one can access many local walks, some along former railway tracks one of which will take you into Killin itself, and others to local waterfalls or out onto open hillside. The local area forms part of The Loch Lommond and Trossachs National Park and is therefore protected from development.

The village of Killin offers a varied range of shops, there are of course various places to by gifts and local souvenirs, but also a choice of grocery stores and utility outlets. The Killin Outdoor Centre supplies a full range of outdoor clothing, maps and guides etc plus advice on local walks and weather forecasts. Here you can also hire mountain bikes, canoes and skiing kit when the weather dictates.

There are various pubs and restaurants in the village from the snug to the more formal. Recently refurbished is the Falls of Dochart Inn with huge open fire and seperate resturant.

For that very special occasion another restaurant reputed for excellent food is The Craigard that can be found halfway through the village. or for something a little less formal you cannot beat the Fish and Chippy van in the car park of the Village Hall (high seasons months only), its varied menu includes fresh fish and locally caught Haggis.

Tariff Information

Tariff Range: from 300 to 725 GBP per week

The accommodation at Wester Lix is normally available for a full week during the peak summer season from Saturday to Saturday, or for short breaks of 3 or more days as availability allows during the low seasons

The prices we publish represent the total cost for rental of each cottage for a full week, which assumes self catering and includes heating, bed linen and use of the grounds etc. Electricity is by coin meter which we fill prior to your stay so the only additional charge is for electricity for any additional domestic electricity and for the sauna.
We also make small cover charge for pets of £15 for the first pet and £5 for each additional.
Services such as catering and booking of local activities etc are quoted as required, or contact details can be forwarded for arrangements to be made directly by guests.
