Le Bois Berranger is a large house (situated in the country but just 5 minutes from the coast) which can be rented as a whole or as 3 separate gites.
Bed and Breakfast – Chambres d’hotes
- Two bedrooms are available as chambres d’hotes so you can stay a night or so if you are touring the country.

Lavenders (B&B) (1-2 persons)
- First floor b&b en-suite twin bedded room with separate entrance
- Overlooking pool.(Continental Breakfast included)
Garden
- The garden is approximately 1000 sq. metres and features our 8m x 5m swimming pool which is 1.25 metres deep and has easy entrance steps one end.
- Around the pool we have a terrace with reclining chairs and parasols for everyone to have a relaxing time sunbathing.
- Facing the pool are all the terraces including our dining room terrace which is the ideal place to join in with our tables d’hotes special evenings.
- At the end of the garden we have a games room which includes table tennis, table football, boules, board games and badminton nets and racquets.
- Also available is a barbecue and for fun we have inflatable rings and sunbeds for the pool!
- This year we have a constructed our very own sandy beach in the garden – for the kids! (with buckets and spades! etc).
Cots and high chairs are available on request.
Breakfast is available if required (by prior notice) for gites and mobile home.
All accommodation includes tv, radio, dvd player.
Locality (close to: St Urbain)
The coastline of the Vendée stretches over 160 km with mostly sandy beaches. This together with its exceptionally mild climate have long attracted large numbers of overseas and domestic tourists. Some popular resorts include Les Sables D’Olonne, Saint Jean de Monts, and Noirmoutier.
- Some beaches are "blue flagged" for cleanliness.
- This region has many churches and abbeys, museums, and - for nature lovers - there are thousands of marked footpaths, a signposted bicycle route running along the coastal mudflats, and marshes that attract unusual birds.
- Fishing is popular in the ocean or in the Vendée's rivers and lakes.
- There are street markets every day in local towns during the summer months.
- This department also has some speciality products, including a distinctive brioche (now recognised by the “label rouge” designation) and a raw cured ham(Jambon de Vendee) similar in flavour to bacon.
- Wine is also produced in the area around the communes of Vix, Brem, Pissotte and Mareuil-sur-Lay and is marketed under the "Fiefs Vendéens" label. Quality of the production has improved markedly over recent years, and having already achieved the appellation V.D.Q.S (Vins Délimité de Qualité Superieure) the wines are on their way towards A.O.C status (Appellation d’Origine Controlée).
Although there are many restaurants in our area we offer a table d’hote service which is a nice way to spend a social evening, especially popular with young families who can relax in pleasant surroundings.
