Accommodation (Self Catering Cottage, sleeps: 2)
Haumont” meaning hilltop, is a former parish of 200 hectares (450 acres), home to about 20 families and surrounded by lovely countryside.
There is a a state-of-the-art Boarding Cattery, and a tiny rural cottage to let for short breaks.
Someone said that staying here is a bit like camping without the tent.
Facilities include:
- floor area is about 25 m sq (the main room is 14 ft sq)
- It's well insulated
- double bed
- gas immersion hot water
- There is a radio but no TV
- The back door faces a private 4 acre sessile oak woodland, a home to birds and bats
- Organic figs, plums, and blackberries mature in August and September and guests are welcome to pick them.
- The absence of traffic noise makes the silence deafening
- The night skies are fantastic, there is no light pollution
- There is no swimming pool. It's so quiet
You just come for the tranquillity and the smell and sounds of nature where you can concentrate on the sounds of insects and birds which include nightingales, skylarks, golden orioles, buzzards and owls.
Boarding CatteryWe have a new dedicated building (like those recommended by the UK Feline Advisory Bureau), compliant with the French county vet DSV.
We accept vaccinated, sterilized cats in good health, and those currently on prescribed medication/treatment.
